Daz's First Game
Description:
This is a little dungeon shooter. You're some random buff dude who appears out of nowhere. You find out that two evil creatures are hiding away here. The Duck, the duck finally got some lemonade from the lemonade stand... And in returned was cursed by some evil spell that was cast on the lemonade. Now the duck roams around, shooting grapes at anything that it sees. The Teddy bear. The teddy bear is known for protecting children from the nightmares of the dark... Alas, too much dark, and the teddy bear can get corrupted... Ripped up, broken... The teddy summons fire and blasts all those in it's path.
Now, you make your way through three floors filled with dreadful enemies! Prepare yourself!
Controls
Movement - Arrow Keys or WASD
Attack - Left Mouse Click.

Known Bugs upon submission:
The boss doesn't move until you get a little closer. This is due to the size of the object, but I couldn't get that sweet kicker to go about it.

Quick info about me.
This is my first time coding anything related to GameDev. I know this isn't a super glorious game, but it was my first one and I had fun with it! I joined this GameJam with absolutely no knowledge how to design or build a Game. I didn't have any art skills, music design and my knowledge in programming is limited. In this GameJam, I was the noobest of Noobs.
I’m not artsy, nor did I graduate past stick figures.
This meant having to think about how I wanted the game to look. Do I want to be invested with heavy graphics? Nah. Too much work for the first one. I did do a blender introduction video, but that took up a week working a full time job - I lost a lot of time. Then I found Aseprite, and I fiddled.
I watched only one youtube video to know how to use it, then I ”drew” away. For a guy that only knows how to draw stick figures, I think I did pretty good for a first game. I'm hoping to do animation next time. I just ran out of time.

While I enjoy listening to music, I never made music of my own.
I found out that I can’t hear certain tones. I especially found this out, When my brother and I were screwing around with a piano. “Wait... Did that play anything?”
For now, I found a great software with some great sounds, and I learned a little mixing. Cool little skill. Not great at it yet, but working on it.

I’ve learn various coding languages, but often for a single project or two.
Most of my projects are unfinished. Once I fill a need that I have, then I kind of move on. There was never a time table, or somebody to
report stuff to. This means I had to be a little more structured.
Gamemaker and GML was totally new to me. Having to learn multiple aspects in game development was stressful, but it came to a full circle- and now I'm prepared for the next time.

Folks from PirateSoftware's server! Germ, Seek, and LunarComplex. When I had weirdness I experience when coding this in GML, you were there to lead me to the answers of my question- and let me still run the path to figure it out myself.
My bros from another mo's Alec and Drew, for supporting my chaos and just chatting it up with me. It was motivating me to keep going - I enjoyed going through the process myself, but it was way sweeter with my 'crew' surrounding me and cheering me on.
And of course, I have some amazing family who checked things out and kept me motivated just the same.
